Learn more about how I help
I’m a professional coach and facilitator. I help people find simple, practical and creative ways to think differently and act differently so they feel more confident and productive. Before becoming a coach, I was an award-winning theatre director and script editor in television drama. Now I bring all those skills and experience into my coaching.
I have coached pioneering scientists, humanitarians, publishers, finance directors, city bankers, architects, media executives, technical experts, head teachers, marketeers, private equity directors, HR directors and heads of government departments. The best bit of my job is collaborating with brilliant people. I learn as much from them as I hope they learn through working with me.
I help leaders land new jobs, exceed performance targets, plan strategically, get noticed internally and secure new business externally. Their personal and professional growth delivers more success for their organisations.
Through working with me, my clients have more impact, deliver better business results and feel much more confident.
With ten years of executive coaching experience under my belt, I put my success down to two things: building a strong rapport with you and creating a space where you can do your best work.
I’m proud of my ability of create an atmosphere of safety, privacy and challenge where you can be bold, reflective, strategic and creative. By listening, asking questions and giving you time for focused thinking, I will skilfully nudge you towards fresh insights and new actions.
We can all be compelling speakers and we all have memorable stories to share.
Confident delivery and dynamic content are skills that can be learnt, and I can coach you - as long as you’re ready to get on your feet and practise out loud!
Coaching for speakers and presenters is offered 1:1 and in small groups.
I have built an impressive reputation as a specialist coach for speakers and presenters. I draw on practical tools from the rehearsal room and blend these with story-telling techniques from my television drama experience. I can give you ways to act differently as a speaker, whilst still staying true to yourself. My clients consistently say how much better they feel for having worked with me.
I can show you how to stop delivering your presentation like an express train. I can help you shift your physical presence, so you have credibility with an audience before you have said a word. I can show you how silence can give you more gravitas.
Sometimes people worry that theatrical techniques will make them phoney - this couldn’t be farther from my ambitions for you as a communicator. The sessions are tailored to uncover your voice, your presence, your stories and your thinking.
Then we get ready to showcase this to your audiences - your team, your Executive Board or your TEDx debut.
These sessions may take you to the edge of your comfort zone, but I have a knack of helping you feel at ease, and my work is individually tailored in both 1:1 and small group sessions.
When you and your team are working flat out, it can feel counter-intuitive to stop and dedicate a day to creative and strategic thinking. I design and facilitate bespoke away days to get your team travelling in the same direction.
An away day can help your team change gear and make faster progress by defining clear priorities. Your team will have more energy, more drive and be stronger which in turn delivers results.
I’m proud to have developed long-standing relationships with incredibly successful teams. I have seen them embrace different thinking and different actions and their success has not only helped them to feel bolder and stronger, it has also contributed to business growth. For one team this was 10% in 12 months.
I’ll support your team to work out what an exciting future looks like. How can you be more effective and reach the success you want? What are the immediate next steps and who will do them? We’ll apply the principles of think differently, act differently, feel better to achieve collective focus, concrete actions and shared accountability.
For the teams I’m working with now, continual change is the new normal, and I also offer on-going team support for performance, creativity and resilience.
Working with senior leadership teams keeps me focused, energised and on my toes. It can be challenging and unpredictable and that’s why I enjoy it so much.
